Rs 10 For Asking Address: Hilarious Notice Shows How Desis Are All About Business
Viral Post: Hilarious poster asking for 'Rs 10 for asking address' shows how Desis leaves no stones unturned in turning anything into business.

Recall that scene from the 2012 blockbuster ‘OMG – Oh My God!’ where everyone hounded a shopkeeper seeking the address of advocate Hanif Quershi (Om Puri) after he helped Kanji Lalji Mehta (Paresh Rawal) in filing a case against the ‘act of god.’ How this incident led to a constant stream of individuals trapped in the case repeatedly bombarding the shopkeeper for directions to the advocate’s house. The shopkeeper, pushed to the brink of frustration, eventually slapped up a poster pointing the way, exasperatedly declaring, “Vo vaha rehte hai.”

Well, it appears that the exasperation of dealing with persistent address-seekers in real life is so frustrating that it has spawned a unique entrepreneurial opportunity. As we know, Desis have an uncanny knack for turning anything into a business, and this incident is a prime example.

In a snapshot shared on ‘X’ by @comedibanda, we witness a man peacefully dozing outside what seems like a makeshift home, with his possessions hanging about. Yet, the real showstopper is the notice on the board, sending everyone into fits of laughter. “Pata puchne ke 10 rupay (Rs. 10 for asking address),” it boldly declares. Clearly, seems like this guy had had enough of being the human GPS and decided to cash in on it.

The caption accompanying the picture hilariously pronounces, “This is business,” triggering a cascade of amusing reactions online.

A clever commentator chimed in, “Google maps Lite Premium Subscription.” Another, in a nostalgic tone, mused, “I could have been rolling in cash since childhood.” The third one quirkily declared, “Ese krke millionaire ban jayenge,” while the fourth jestingly added, “Google maps crying in the corner.”

Interestingly, this isn’t the first instance of such an entrepreneurial venture surfacing on the internet. Previously, a notice took it a step further, offering directions for Rs.5 and transportation to the destination for Rs.10. Even that post was met with amusement from the online Indian Twitter community, with many applauding the creativity and resourcefulness of the poster’s creator.
