IndiGo Airlines has received frequent criticism for delays and other service issues in the past. In a recent incident, a flight from Delhi to Bagdogra was delayed by four hours due to high ground temperatures, leaving passengers disappointed. They were confined inside the closed aircraft without air conditioning.
Despite these challenges, there have also been positive experiences. Recently, a passenger was pleasantly surprised by IndiGo’s service during a delay on their Delhi to Leh flight. The cabin crew provided water, snacks and organised a fun game to help pass the time. The flight was delayed due to bad weather conditions at the destination.
Taking to Reddit, the passenger wrote, “Appreciating IndiGo for running the AC, cabin crew constantly serving passengers with water and they handed us a small snack packet. Flight to Leh got delayed due to bad weather still sitting at the tarmac in Delhi.” The Reddit post received mixed reactions. Some social media users praised IndiGo as one of the best and most hygienic airlines, while others criticised their services.

Reacting to the post, a user wrote, “Still people diss IndiGo like anything, on the other hand it’s far better than any Indian airline right now.”
Another shared, “Now this is hospitality, compared to what has happened previously.”
“I have always appreciated the airline’s hygiene and cleanliness. It’s always been better. Though, they no longer greet passengers like they used to years ago,” a comment read.
One more added, “IndiGo is getting worse. The corporate meal for which they charge like 300 odd rupees has one 4cm biscuit and the non-saleable pomegranate juice by paper boat. They won’t even include a sandwich. Worst food service. Zero VFM.”
Earlier this year, IndiGo faced public backlash when several flights were delayed or cancelled abruptly, prompting widespread criticism. Citizens, including prominent personalities like Vir Das, Shark Tank India judge Anupam Mittal and journalists, expressed their dissatisfaction with the airline’s operational disruptions
A passenger was caught on camera striking the IndiGo flight captain while he was announcing a delay. The flight from Delhi to Goa was grounded due to foggy conditions in the capital city. When the captain began to announce the extended delay over the microphone, the passenger became enraged and hit him in the face.

The passenger was later arrested for assaulting co-captain Anup Kumar.
