They say ‘If you don’t know how to pour beer, you will end up with a poor beer’. There are many ways to enjoy a chilled beer on a hot summer day. However, it is quite important to understand that there is a particular way to pour beer. How you pour it into a glass can impact the taste, aroma and overall experience of the drink. Most people follow two ways to pour down a chilled beer — hard pour and soft pour. As the name suggests, a hard pour is when the beer is poured quickly in the middle of a glass, while a soft pour is when it is slowly poured down the side of the glass. Recently, a video has gone viral where a man can be seen explaining the art of pouring a beer. The clip has garnered a lot of interaction from users who were impressed with his skills.
In the video, a man starts by showing a soft pour, saying this is how most people pour their beer, slowly down the side of the glass. He adds that this way helps with the absence of foam in the glass. Next, he takes another glass and pours a beer can in the middle of the glass, with a thick foamy head on top. He refers to it as the hard pour.
Later, he explains why one style is better than the other. The man takes two tissue papers and stirs them in each pour. This leads to some foam being created in the soft pour and even some of the beer spilling. He explains that most people use this way of pouring, but it can make people feel bloated and full due to the higher carbonation.
On the other hand, he explains that having a hard pour is better, as it has no foam after the stir and will not lead to bloating. However, the downside of having a hard-poured beer is that it might get flat and impact the taste and experience.
