JEE Advanced. This entrance exam, required for admission in all major state-funded engineering institutes, is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). To deter cheating, JEE exams employ multiple-question papers with identical questions but varying formats. Since 2019, the exams have transitioned to a computer-based format, adding another layer of complexity for potential cheaters.
Despite all these anti-cheating measures, a Reddit user claimed that a candidate who was sitting beside him during the exam managed to copy from him, as a result both of them now have a score of 300 in JEE Mains. In a now-deleted Reddit post, the candidate wrote that after the exam, the person who cheated admitted that he copied all the answers.
It seems a boy scored 300/300 in JEE Mains just by copying a topper sitting beside him. Lol, What were invigilators doing? pic.twitter.com/44MNnzILPz

The Reddit user added, “Fast forward to the day when the final answer key was released (I think it was 2 days ago), I found out that he had also got 300 in his exam. I had told my parents, teachers and friends about this. They consoled me saying it wasn’t my mistake.” He asked people to write an email to the exam authorities, demanding action against the student who allegedly copied his paper. Interestingly, he has not named the person who copied from him.
Now this Reddit post is going viral across social media platforms, with many people questioning the authenticity of the claims made in the post. An X user wrote, “It appears to be fake! The questions are jumbled up to make 4 sets of paper. And NTA has taken exams so many times that having the same set of adjacent students is impossible (due to algo)! Besides, the guy will have to memorise at least 50-55 questions out of 75 again impossible!”

In recent years, the NTA has increased invigilation during exams. On Wednesday, NTA announced the results of JEE Main 2024 second session. Only 56 candidates achieved a 100 percentile.
