Bengaluru Woman’s 'Flatmate Alert' Post Gets 10/10 For Creativity

In a crowded, busy city like Bengaluru, finding a flatmate is a challenging task for some. Many youngsters relocate to the Silicon Valley of India every year to pursue their careers in the tech industry. Hence, the demand for rental residential properties is always high near office areas across the city. People, who have an experience of flat hunting in Bengaluru, are certainly aware of the cost of living here. That’s why working professionals and students mostly want to share their apartments with one or two other bachelors.

In an effort to find a compatible flatmate, a Bengaluru-based woman named Udisha Dubey recently dropped a post on X (formerly Twitter). After it surfaced on the internet, other users hailed Udisha for her unique and creative approach. The widely viral post featured some glimpses of her decorated 2BHK house, which is located in Koramangala.

Sharing details of the residential property, Udisha wrote, “Flatmate Alert. Hey folks! I’m looking for a female flatmate for my 2BHK in 8th Block, Koramangala, a 5-minute walk from DYU Art Cafe.”

The person willing to share the apartment with her will need to pay a monthly rent of Rs 13,750, apart from a one-time security deposit of Rs 50,000. “Move-in date – 1st April. Please repost for visibility & DM for deets!” Udisha added in the caption.

Udisha Dubey, an IIT Roorkee graduate and Goldman Sachs associate, was mainly appreciated for the pictures she attached to the post. She certainly made enough effort to make the images more engaging. Udisha used a graphic tool to add informative texts to those pictures.

The series starts with an introductory picture where Udisha can be seen sitting at the entrance of the house. The next photographs feature a cosy bedroom, study space, living room, vanity, kitchen, washroom and terrace view. Udisha also shared a picture of her cook, with a short note, “Holder of the best Didi award, Nirmala Didi. PS: Her biryani and beetroot tikkis are to die for.”

In the comments section, many Bangalore-based women expressed their wish to move in with Udisha. “The amount of effort to find a roomie set a new bar,” a user wrote, praising Udisha for her efforts.

“Such cute posts. Love the design touches,” acknowledged an individual.

Another commented, “Got to bookmark this to take some lessons from you on how to present.”

Since being shared, the X post has received more than 170,000 views while garnering over 1,000 likes.
