Gaurav Khanna, with a longstanding presence in the television industry, gained widespread recognition for his portrayal of Anuj Kapadia in the popular daily soap Anupamaa. On the occasion of his birthday, Gaurav Khanna was showered with warm wishes from many of his co-stars, including Nidhi Shah, Nishi Saxena, Alpana Buch, and others. They penned special birthday messages for Gaurav on social media handles.
Nidhi Shah, in particular, shared several pictures with the actor and conveyed her wishes, saying, “Happy happy birthday Gaurav Khanna. Thank you for being my therapist and for making me smile. God bless you, annoying child.”
Nishi Saxena, despite joining the show Anupamaa later than some others, has developed a strong bond with Gaurav Khanna. She extended her warm wishes to him through a picture collage and shared a short clip featuring Gaurav. In the clip, she humorously mentioned, “Gaurav Khanna stealing my thunder… but birthday boy ke liye chalta hai.”

Gaurav Khanna embarked on his acting journey in the early 2000s with shows like Bhabhi, Kumkum – Ek Pyara Sa Bandhan, Meri Doli Tere Angana, Ardhangani, Love Ne Mila Di Jodi, Yeh Pyar Na Hoga Kam, and others. He also notably featured in the famous crime investigation show C.I.D as Senior Inspector Kavin.
In 2021, Gaurav Khanna joined the cast of Anupamaa and made a significant impact. His character, Anuj Kapadia, entered the show as the love interest of Anupama (Rupali Ganguly) and quickly became a fan favourite. In an interview, Gaurav Khanna admitted feeling nervous before taking up the role, expressing concerns about portraying a character older than himself.
“It wasn’t hesitation but I was like, ‘Will I be able to do this?’ Anuj Kapadia is older than Gaurav Khanna. I was thinking if I will be able to do justice to a character who is of a certain age or at a certain level in life,” the actor mentioned in an old interview. Despite initial reservations, Gaurav Khanna’s concerns about portraying Anuj Kapadia were alleviated when the producer convinced him.
