Amidst a flurry of high-profile weddings, the union of Ishqbaaz actress Surbhi Chandna and Karan Sharma took center stage. After dating for a long time, the couple marked the beginning of a new chapter in their lives by exchanging vows on March 2 at the Chomu Palace in Jaipur. But what caught everyone’s attention was Surbhi’s bridal outfit choice. Instead of going for the usual red, she opted for a stunning turquoise lehenga with pops of pink carnation. It was a bold move, but one that perfectly showcased her personality and style.
The lehenga, designed by Jigar and Nikita, was adorned with intricate embroidery, floral motifs, and sequins, each detail adding to its beauty and elegance. The corset-style blouse, with its pearl detailing and sweetheart neckline, added a touch of regal charm. What’s even more impressive is the amount of effort that went into creating this masterpiece. It took a whopping 70 days and 1680 hours of hard work to bring Surbhi’s vision to life.
Speaking about the same in an interview with ETimes, designer duo Jigar and Nikita said, “Surbhi has a unique personality and we wanted her wedding outfit to reflect that perfectly. Instead of traditional red, pink, or ivory, we chose turquoise because it matches her calm, friendly, and cheerful demeanour. Every bride deserves to look her best at her wedding, so we made sure to put extra effort into every detail. Our goal was to maintain tradition while adding a modern touch that would suit both Surbhi and Karan. It took us almost 70 days to finish the outfit, with intricate zardozi work and pearl detailing, but when Surbhi wore it on her big day and smiled, all the hard work felt worth it. We’re really happy she trusted us to make her look amazing.”
Surbhi also shared her thoughts on her dreamy bridal outfit, which garnered immense love and appreciation. She revealed that despite portraying a bride on screen, like many other girls, she had been dreaming about her wedding attire for years. The actress expressed her gratitude towards Bindagi by Jigar and Nikita for making her dream a reality. Recalling the moment she first laid eyes on the outfit, she confessed, “I was speechless, and the little girl in me did a happy dance.”
On the other hand, Karan Sharma complemented Surbhi’s lehenga with a grey open-jacket sherwani ensemble.
