WhatsApp Wants To Make It Easy To Rejig Your Favourite Contacts: Here's How
WhatsApp is testing a new feature with its beta users on Android which makes it easier for you to chat with the favourite contacts.

WhatsApp continues with its focus on making the platform useful and feature-rich for its users. The beta version of WhatsApp gives us a glimpse into what the messaging app plans to offer in the near future. The Meta-owned app now offers an AI chatbot that lets you create AI images and answer queries. But the more basic additions are also in its focus with the ability to rearrange the contacts in your favourites tab.

In fact, the new tab itself is being tested with the beta version, as reported by WaBetaInfo recently. The new favourites tab will be available from the main settings page, as hinted by the tipster, and you can rearrange the contacts based on how frequently you call or chat with them on the messaging app.

What this means is that you can push your top contacts to the top of the interface which makes it easier to chat with them or even give them a call. The feature is still in the beta phase so it is possible that WhatsApp might not bring it to the public version at all or you could see it made official in the next few weeks.

That’s not the only feature that WhatsApp users will find making their lives easier. The messaging app is also testing a new way to see which of your friends or contacts were recently online. The new feature is being beta tested for Android users with the version 2.24.9.14 as mentioned by WeBetaInfo in its latest post this week.

The messaging app is basically adding a new tab in its interface called Recently online right above the section where you can see the names of all your contacts on WhatsApp. “While this feature doesn’t provide a comprehensive online list of all contacts, it effectively simulates such functionality by displaying a limited number of recent active contacts, particularly when attempting to select contacts to place a call with,” the tipster highlights in the post.
