Samsung has reportedly readied its guns to tackle the recently launched Apple flagship, the iPhone X. As per a recent tweet by noted tipster Evan Blass, the next-in-line flagship smartphone by the South Korean company, namely the Galaxy S9 and the Galaxy S9+, will debut at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) to be held in Las Vegas in January. The tweets further mention that Samsung will provide a dual camera setup on the ‘plus’ variant and not the Galaxy S9, while the Galaxy S9 will see some hardware upgrades over its predecessor, the Galaxy S8.
Evan mentions that both the smartphones will be put up for sale in March, so it seems that Samsung will just be providing a cameo of the two flagships at the CES. In terms of upgrades, the report mentions that the smartphones will be “nearly identical" to Samsung’s last year’s launches, Galaxy S8 and S8+. This makes sense as Samsung had come up with an arguably revolutionary design with the Galaxy S8 and the S8+ and if the company is not planning to embed a dual camera, not much of an upgrade is required to give an ‘even more premium’ look and feel to the upcoming devices.

The smartphones are expected to be powered by Qualcomm’s next-in-line Snapdragon 845 SoC, and an equivalent Exynos processor for its global variant, probably the recently launched Exynos 9810. Samsung is also anticipated to differentiate between both its offerings this time with a bigger 6GB RAM on the Galaxy S9+, as compared to the 4GB RAM offering on the S9. As per the report, the plus variant will also receive a Galaxy Note 8 like dual camera setup at the back. The similarities on the smartphones will the 64GB internal storage (expandable), AKG stereo speakers and vertically aligned entities on the back panel.
