The leaked image shows the flagship smartwatch with a yellow colored e-paper-like display.

New Delhi: Image of Pebble's next smartwatch was apparently leaked out on the company's own website and soon after it was replaced by an image of an actual pebble.

The leak comes a day before Pebble's official unveiling. 9to5 Mac first caught the mishap and said that the earlier image showed the flagship smartwatch with a yellow colored e-paper-like display. The device appeared to have a larger bezel and buttons which are smaller compared to its predecessor.

Speculations suggested that the new Pebble smartwatch will have improved backlight and encased in an overall thinner design. However, it will not be touch-enabled like the Apple Watch. It is also believed that the watch will have the charging and data transfer pins at the bottom, which now sports a plastic body with aluminum edges.

The speculated updates also include battery life specifications in line with the current models along with an addition of a microphone and Nuance- voice recognition software.

The Pebble watch will run on a faster Cortex M4 processor with a 6-axis gyroscope and it is expected that the price of the updated watch will be close to the price of the Pebble Steel model, which sells at $199.

The device will also have an improved operating system which is redesigned by the team behind WebOS, featuring a timeline view that shows a list of recent notifications.

The official unveiling of the Pebble smartwatch is scheduled for today (February 24) at 10 AM. Stay tuned!
