If you are a gamer and haven’t been living under a rock, you would know about Palworld and how popular it has become since its launch just weeks ago on January 19th. In fact, the game has broken many records, with it now being the most successful third-party launch in Xbox GamePass history. Cumulatively, the game, as per reports, has sold a combined whopping 19 million copies across Steam and Xbox.
But for those of you who are uninitiated, Palworld is a survival title developed by Pocketpair, a Japanese indie game maker. Similar to the Pokémon games, it features creatures called ‘Pals’ that you can catch. It shares multiple similarities with Pokémon, from the appearance of the creatures to how you store them in the ‘Paldeck.’ Simply put, it is a blend of various game styles, and in doing so, it comes off as bizarre in many ways, including the aspect of your Pals shooting machine guns.
In addition to the capturing mechanics, crafting and survival are integral aspects of the core experience. You can assign tasks to your Pals, among other features. Picture it as the Nintendo game inspired by Pokémon that never came to be, enhanced with exciting mechanics and elements that offer a delightful gaming experience.
Developer Thanks Fan for The Response As Nintendo Takes Notice
“The fan response has been incredible. To see millions of players around the world enjoying Palworld is just amazing,” said Takuro Mizobe, Pocketpair CEO. Meanwhile, Nintendo had to acknowledge Palworld’s existence at some point. Nintendo has communicated that it would “take appropriate measures” if the game is found to have content that infringes on its original content rights.
Where Can You Play Palworld?
Currently, users can play Palworld across multiple platforms, including Xbox, PC, and is available as part of the GamePass subscription. The game costs Rs 1,300 on Steam or $30 in the US. That said, there are rumblings that the game may eventually come to the PS5 system, but this is just a rumour for now.
Do you Need a Powerful PC to Run Palworld?
As per Steam’s recommended specs, Palworld requires a 64-bit processor and operating system, Windows 10 or later (64-Bit), an Intel Core i9-9900K processor running at 3.6 GHz with 8 cores, 32 GB of RAM, a GeForce RTX 2070 graphics card, DirectX 11 compatibility, and a minimum of 40 GB of available storage space.
