Elon Musk has officially confirmed that X Premium+ users can now use Grok AI chatbot on their X accounts. Grok, based on Grok-1, X’s proprietary LLM developed over the last four months. Grok features several differences compared to the most popular chatbots, such as Google Bard and ChatGPT.
Musk also pointed out that Grok is rolling out for the Premium+ users in the US over the next week. He mentioned that Premium+ users from day one have a better chance to access Grok compared to the newer Premium+ subscribers on the platform X. He says that Premium+ users can find Grok in the side menu of X on Windows, Android and iOS versions, as long as they are up-to-date. Those using X on the mobile can bring Grok to the bottom menu for easy access, he adds.

Musk has talked up the Grok AI chatbot to be a better alternative to ChatGPT and Google’s Bard AI as it can offer replies to ‘spicy questions’ that Musk claims other popular chatbots refrain from answering.
Back in November, X highlighted that Grok is based on ‘Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy,’ intended to answer almost anything and, more challenging, even suggest what questions to ask!"
We want Grok to serve as a powerful research assistant for anyone, aiding in quick access to relevant information, data processing, and generating new ideas," notes X. Additionally, the company aims to create AI tools useful for individuals of all backgrounds and political views.
Moreover, Grok can also go through X (Twitter) and access real-time knowledge on the platform to respond accordingly. He confirmed that to use Grok AI you will need the X Premium+ subscription which is the highest tier plan that X is offering in addition to the X Premium base plan.
There is a lot of concern around how an AI chatbot works on the internet and how it discloses data. Some experts have talked about the cases of plagiarism and copyright issues, so it is critical that Musk and his AI team at X works out chinks out of Grok and deliver a safe experience for users.
