New Delhi: The anticipated Windows 10 OS is almost here and while it packs a lot of new features, not many are aware that its Xbox game clip feature can also let you record your screen activity. Sounds scary? That’s just a part of it.
The new operating system comes with a game bar the Xbox app and includes a feature that allows one to take a screenshot or shoot a video of their gaming experience. The catch here is that one can also use the feature outside the gaming app, BetaNews reports.
Microsoft says that the new game DVR functionality is built into Windows 10, so that one can easily record and share their favorite gaming moments. However, if you launch the game bar in any app, you can still trigger the recording.
If you press Windows key + G, a popup will appear asking if you want to launch the game bar. Once you select Yes, it will show you the bar with the recording button. Alternatively, you can press Windows + Alt + G to record 30 seconds of activity. You can also choose the length of the video through the settings panel.
All the recordings are saved in MP4 format and stored by default in the Videos\Captures folder. From the Xbox app, you can go to the Game DVR section and access the recorded videos as well as trim them using the in-built tool.
While this seems like a pretty cool feature for the gamers out there, it could put to risk privacy of an average user. This especially concerns users of a shared device, who might not be aware of the feature.
