Apple Could Rebrand Apple ID As 'Apple Account' With Launch Of iOS 18: Report
This rumoured rebrand could coincide with the launches of iOS 18 and macOS 15, which is expected in September or October

If you are an Apple device owner, you are likely familiar with the necessity of creating an Apple ID to unlock the full array of features, including iCloud, the App Store, and more. Now, while the ‘Apple ID’ has been a mainstay for over a decade, there are indications that Apple is contemplating a rebrand, potentially shifting towards the term ‘Apple Account.’

According to a report by MacRumors, sources suggest that Apple is currently in the experimental stages of adopting the new Apple Account nomenclature, with this change possibly making its debut as early as this year.

More specifically, this purported rebrand could coincide with the launches of iOS 18 and macOS 15, which is expected in September or October–Apple’s typical timeframe for releasing new operating systems.

Should this rebranding materialise, MacRumors notes that adjustments will be made to both Apple’s system applications and its web interface to seamlessly incorporate the new moniker.

While the motive behind this purported rebrand remains unclear, it aligns with rumours of iOS 18 representing a significant overhaul from Apple, featuring potential design and UI modifications, as well as the introduction of generative AI features.

However, it’s important to note that these are currently just rumours, and expectations should be kept at bay until there is concrete information from Apple.
