Actor-director Sundar C has been a prominent figure in Tamil cinema, earning recognition for his successful foray into horror films. His journey began with comedy films, gradually transitioning to horror with the Aranmanai film series in 2014. The 1997 movie Arunachalam, starring superstar Rajinikanth, marked a turning point in his career, leading to hits like Winner, Giri, Kalakalappu, and Anbe Sivam.
Sundar C tied the knot with actress Khushbu in 2000, and their enduring love has been evident in numerous interviews. However, during a recent interview on a YouTube channel, the director surprisingly revealed that if Khushbu hadn’t entered his life, he would have seriously proposed to the late actress Soundarya.
Sundar C shared that his wife had once requested him not to collaborate with Soundarya in films while she was alive. When asked about the reason behind this request, Sundar C praised Soundarya’s talent and beauty, expressing that he would have proposed to her if circumstances were different. He humorously mentioned that he often tells this story to his wife as a joke.
Speaking about Soundarya, who worked with him in the movie Arunachalam, Sundar C commended her skills and beauty. He acknowledged Soundarya’s brother’s exceptional affection and proclaimed himself to be the actress’s biggest fan. Despite the revelation, Sundar C emphasised that this was a hypothetical scenario and his wife remains an integral part of his life.
In the interview, Sundar C also discussed his collaborations with other heroines, particularly highlighting his positive experiences working with Trisha. He mentioned having collaborated with Trisha multiple times and praised her immense talent, noting that while she may seem nonchalant on the surface, her commitment and skill shine through.
Currently immersed in the fourth instalment of the Aranmanai series, slated for release next year, Sundar C continues to make his mark in Tamil cinema, seamlessly balancing his roles as an actor and director.
