Yeddyurappa's bail plea deferred to October 28
The Lokayukta court had on Saturday extended Yeddyurappa's custody till November 3.

Bangalore: The hearing of former Karnataka chief minister B S Yeddyurappa's bail plea was on Monday adjourned till October 28.

Earlier, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader had withdrawn his interim bail plea and then applied for regular bail.

His counsel had on Friday sought a three-day bail so that Yeddyurappa could spend Diwali with his family at home.

The BJP leader's plea was opposed on the ground that he could influence key witnesses.

The Lokayukta court had on Saturday extended Yeddyurappa's custody till November 3.

Yeddyurappa was earlier admitted in two hospitals after his arrest, following which he moved to the jail.

There were reports that he was upset with senior BJP leader L K Advani over his comment on corruption in the party and that was the main reason he wanted to shift to jail despite his poor health.
