New Delhi: Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav on Monday backed the idea of Third Front and said it was a good step for India. "Third Front is a good step for the country, but for SP Uttar Pradesh is the priority," Akhilesh Yadav said.
This came a day after party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav said there were no talks of Third Front yet.
Akhilesh Yadav, who is all set to become the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh also said law and order in the state will be his priority. "Whoever violates the law will be dealt with," he said.
"We will fulfill the responsibility given to us," he added.
Reports of a possible Third Front emerged after Trinamool Congress chief and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee was invited by SAD and SP for the swearing-in ceremonies of the Punjab and Uttar Pradesh chief ministers.
However, Mamata said she won't attend the ceremonies, but she is keeping the Centre guessing by sending her representatives for the same.
