Chennai based start-up firm 'Potatolive' launched an online game themed on the upcoming assembly elections in Tamil Nadu.
Titled as '234 seats', the game has turned into a trend for citizens across the state. Similar to any other fantasy league, '234 seats' allow users to predict the candidates who would win the elections from the respective constituencies.
The player, who ends up making the most number of right predictions, would be declared the winner and awarded a handsome cash prize.
Aptly named 234seats.in, after Tamil Nadu's 234 assembly constituencies, the website has been getting close to 900 logins on a daily basis.
Speaking exclusively to CNN-News18, Santhosh Subramanian, Creator, 234seats.in, was happy that his game has garnered so much attention.
"…a virtual political party with real candidates: you have 15 constituencies in which 10 constituencies are 'Star Constituencies' and 5 constituencies are your favorites", he said.
Working out of his tiny workspace, Subramanian says he thought of the idea as an extension to his already-existing toy rental business.
"On May 19, we will collate and match your answers with the actual results. Whoever is the closest one will be declared as a winner. Closest one could be in terms of vote percent which is one of the filters the other one is the number of correct answers", he said.
