Rajasthan Assembly passes 2 quota bills, total reservation in the state now at 68%
The Opposition has said that government is not serious about the bills. It has claimed that it would have sought an amendment had it been serious about the bills.

Even as heavy protests are on in Gujarat for reservation, Rajasthan Assembly has gone ahead and passed two separate legislations providing reservation to Gujjars and other economically backward classes in government jobs.

The bills provide 5% quota to special backward classes including Gujjars and 14% quota to economically backward classes. With these legislations, the total reservation in the state has risen up to 68%.

However, the Opposition has said that government is not serious about the bills. It has claimed that it would have sought an amendment had it been serious about the bills.
