No provision to arrest Lalit Modi under FEMA violation charges: BJP
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has now claimed that there is no provision for the arrest of former Indian Premier League (IPL) commissioner Lalit Modi on the basis of charges on him.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which appears to be struggling in tackling a continued attack by the Congress party, has now claimed that there is no provision for the arrest of former Indian Premier League (IPL) commissioner Lalit Modi on the basis of charges on him.

According to the BJP, since the former IPL chief is facing cases of Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA) violations, there is no provision for his arrest.

The party has, however, said that the government is considering stronger money laundering cases against Lalit Modi so that there is a possibility of his arrest.

The government has been in the line of fire following allegations by Congress-led opposition parties of trying to shield Lalit Modi. The Congress has also demanded the resignations of External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje.
