BSP chief holds rally in Etawah, Mulayam Singh’s hometown, says she will defeat SP.

New Delhi: Reservation for Muslims would be the BSP’s priority if it wins the UP Assembly elections, said party chief Mayawati on Tuesday.

The party would support the Centre in provide reservation to Muslims, the former UP chief minister said at a rally in Etawah.

Mayawati said her party was not against Muslims and Opposition parties had maligned the BSP by calling ''anti-minority''.

''If my party is voted to power, reservation for Muslims would be on the top of the agenda,'' she said.

The BSP had members from all sections of the society, but the Opposition had started a misinformation campaign to ''confuse'' voters.

She said the Samajwadi Party had been weakened by after Beni Prasad Verma’s exit and decision to form his own group.

''The SP is contesting the elections on the agenda of corruption, criminalisation and misgovernance,'' Mayawati said.

Reiterating that SP leaders Mulayam Singh Yadav and Amar Singh would flee the country after the elections, she said if a BSP government was formed, it would put them behind bars for their ''corrupt practices''.
