New Delhi: After fighting a lone battle in Singur, Trinamool Congress leader Mamata Banerjee has been invited to join in the UPA, said Congress leader Priyaranjan Das Munshi on Sunday.
“Mamata is welcome to return to the governing UPA,” said the Information and Broadcasting Minister adding that it was a “mistake to let Banerjee leave the coalition.”
"I think in this mistake I should substantively blame Mamata because I have been trying to convince her to get back in the party," Munshi was quoted by a TV channel on Sunday.
Munshi who had backed Banerjee's protests at Singur refused to make any clear comments on Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's stand on the Singur issue. However, he welcomed the Trinamool supreme to join in the governance.
