Mamata Bannerjee to abstain; no vote will help UPA
Trinamool Congress chief says she will keep away from Congress, Left, BJP.

Kolkata: Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee on Monday said her party would not participate in the trust vote in the Lok Sabha.

Banerjee, who is the only representative of her party in the Lok Sabha, said she would maintain equidistance from the Congress, CPI-M and BJP.

"We will not vote for the Congress, CPI-M or BJP in the trust vote and will not take any of these political sides. We will protest this Indo-US nuclear deal silently, in our own way," Banerjee said in a public rally here.

The debate on the trust vote started Monday and would end Tuesday after which the house would vote. The vote, which is likely to go down to the finishing line, would decide the future of the Manmohan Singh government reduced to a minority after the Left withdrew support over differences on the India-US nuclear deal.
