Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Tuesday said he would not mind extending state hospitality to visiting leaders from Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) if it helps in bringing about a change of heart in them.
"I will not mind extending state hospitality to him (PoK leader Sultan Mehmood Chaudhary) even if I am criticised for it," Omar said in the state Assembly.
He was responding to criticism by a BJP member on extending state hospitality to Chaudhary during his recent visit to Kashmir.
Omar said Chaudhary's visit to Kashmir had apparently brought about a change in his thinking as was evident from his statements at a press conference in Islamabad on his return from the Valley.
"He spoke about development and the improving situation here. He said this in Islamabad," the Chief Minister said.
