Chennai: Former union minister GK Vasan on Saturday hit out at the Congress party saying that the party's Working Committee was acting against the interests of the Tamil Nadu Congress Committee.

Vasan is reportedly unhappy with the party leadership and sources said that he is likely to quit the party.

While vasan said he would make an announcement of his next move on November 3, his supporters reportedly want the former shipping minister to revive his late father GK Moopanar's party the Tamil Manila Congress.

It was Vasan who had merged the TMC with the Congress in 2002.

Vasan's comments came two days after BS Gnanadesikan resigned as TNCC president. Gnanadesikan had quit over differences with the AICC.
