DDCA row gets ugly, Kirti Azad calls Arun Jaitley a 'napunsak', says he is not afraid of anyone; later retracts tweet
Kirti Azad has agreed to to become a witness in the defamation case filed by Arun Jaitley against Arvind Kejriwal and five other AAP leaders.

It is turning out to be a bitter battle between Bharatiya Janata Party MP Kirti Azad and Finance Minister Arun Jaitley over the allegations of corruption into the affairs of the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA). In an explosive tweet on Monday night, Azad allegedly tweeted that he is not afraid by anyone and called Jaitley a 'napunsak'.

"I was visited at home by so many agencies to take precautions against threat to my life. Dear @arunjaitley, darta nahin hoon napunsako se," a tweet from his account said.

However, he later tweeting claiming that his Twitter account was hacked and it was not his post. "My A/C is hacked. Statement on @arunjaitley as napunsak is not my tweet," he said.

Meanwhile, Azad has agreed to become a witness in the defamation case filed against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and five other AAP leaders. The Delhi High Court will on Tuesday hear the civil defamation case filed by Jaitley.

The Delhi Chief Minister, on the other hand, is continuing his attack on Jaitley. He claimed that Jaitley has got entangled in his own web by filing a defamation suit. "Jaitley ji should cooperate with the Commission of Enquiry and prove his innocence there," he tweeted.

Also hitting out at the BJP, Kejriwal said that had he got these many "proofs" of corruption against any of his ministers, he would have asked for their resignation. "The BJP is shamelessly saving Jaitley," he said.

Kejriwal has called a special one day session of the Delhi Assembly today to set up a Commission of Inquiry on the alleged irregularities in DDCA. The Assembly is also expected to make a statement condemning the CBI raids on Delhi Chief Minister's office last week. AAP has been alleging that the CBI raids were held to bury the evidence in the DDCA scam.

Launching a scathing attack against Jaitley, AAP spokesperson Sanjay Singh said, "Jaitley is free to do what he wants. I will say again and again that Arun Jaitley is corrupt. He is a 'maha bhrashtachari' and we will fight against him."

Rubbishing the charges against him, the Finance Minister called the charges against him baseless and wrong. "SFIO (Serious Fraud Investigation Office) has accepted the expenditure by DDCA on building new stadium and found nothing wrong," he said.

Jaitley has filed Rs 10 crore civil defamation case in the Delhi High Court against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and 5 other AAP leaders for false statements against him and his family members. He also field a criminal defamation suit against the AAP leaders in the Patiala House Court. Apart from Kejriwal, other AAP leaders who have been named in the suit are Kumar Vishwas, Ashutosh, Sanjay Singh, Raghav Chadha and Deepak Bajpayee.

Criminal complaint has been filed under section 200 CrPC for commission of offences under section 499, 500, 501,502 IPC R/W section 34 & 35 of the IPC for making/writing/publishing false and defamatory statements/allegations in the print and electronic media against the complainant by the above named respondents/accused persons.
