Visakhapatnam: Andhra Pradesh government whip Dronamraju Srinivas on Sunday strongly objected to Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief N Chandrababu Naidu's "abusive and unparliamentary" public remarks made against senior Congress leaders.

He was objecting to Naidu's certain objectionable remarks against the Prime Minister, Congress President Sonia Gandhi", former state chief minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy and his son Y S Jaganmohan Reddy and the present chief minister Kiran Kumar Reddy.

Addressing a press conference in Visakhapatnam on Sunday, Srinivas alleged that instead of expressing his solidarity with people protesting against the state's bifurcation for the last 39 days, Naidu was bent upon criticising Congress leaders during his 'Atma Gaurava Yatra' tour campaign using "abusive and unparliamentary" language.

"Congress leaders and workers will not keep quiet if Naidu continuously criticises Congress leaders and the party. He will face repercussions from Congress leaders. "As a responsible opposition leader, who ruled the state as a chief minister for eight years, Naidu should not criticise the country's Prime Minister using unparliamentary words.

Disrespecting the country's Prime Minister amounts to disrespecting his own country," the Congress MLA said. He said that the TDP president is responsible for the present situation in Andhra Pradesh and alleged that the TDP was the first party to give a letter to the Prime Minister in favour of bifurcating Andhra Pradesh in 2008.

"As Congress leaders, we objected to the Congress Working Committee's (CWC) decision to bifurcate the state and exerted pressure on the Congress high command to reverse its decision. "If Chandrababu has any sympathy for the Seemandhra people's agitation, he should immediately withdraw his letter given in 2008 and submit a fresh letter against bifurcation of the state," he said.

The TDP chief maintained a "two-eyed policy", as he wanted to protect his properties and his family members' properties in Hyderabad, as well as gain political mileage in Seemandhra, Srinivas alleged. "Naidu dreams of coming to power in the state, but it is impossible, since people won't believe his political statements in the present circumstances, since they have already lost faith in the TDP, the state government whip added.
