Congress candidates for all 126 assembly seats of the state have been declared.

New Delhi: Congress on Wednesday declared names of candidates for two more seats for assembly elections in Assam.

With this, names of Congress candidates for all 126 assembly seats of the state have been declared.

In the third and final list, the party has fielded Abdus Samad Ahmed from Sarbhog assembly seat and Hemanta Talukdar from Guwahati West.

Congress had announced its first list of 118 nominees on March 13, who included Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi and Speaker Tanka Bahadur Rai. On March 18, it had declared names of eight more candidates.

The party is seeking a third consecutive term in power in Assam. The state will witness polling in two phases with the first phase covering 62 assembly seats on April 4 and the remaining 64 seats on April 11.
