The BJP leader said that there was "tremendous" public response to save farmers, save country yatra.

Lucknow: Claiming "tremendous" response to its "Kisan Bachao Desh Bachao" yatra from Agra to Gautam Buddha Nagar, BJP on Sunday said it will hold similar marches in other parts of Uttar Pradesh where there is discontent among farmers over the issue of land acquisition.

"The party will take out yatras in different parts of the state and reach all the places where farmers are agitated on the issue of land acquisition," BJP national vice-president Kalraj Mishra told reporters in Lucknow.

"The yatras will tentatively start from July and dates will be finalised after discussion," he added.

Mishra alleged that more than 2,400 people were still missing in Bhatta-Parsaul, where the party organised a kisan panchayat as part of its yatra on Saturday.

"A high level inquiry by sitting judge of the SC should be conducted in Bhatta-Parsaul incident," he demanded. Mishra demanded that an inquiry should be conducted into all cases of forced land acquisition and wherever it is proved acquisition should be cancelled.

The BJP leader said that there was "tremendous" public response to Kisan Bachao Desh Bachao (save farmers, save country) yatra which covered villages falling under Yamuna Expressway in Agra, Mathura, Aligarh, Hathras and Gautam Buddha Nagar.

"All efforts were made on the part of the government and local administration to disturb the yatra," he alleged. He alleged that in Agra, from where the yatra started on June 8, roads were dug up by the local administration.

Mishra condemned the UPA government for adopting an "insensitive" approach to Ramdev's stir against corruption and thanked the spiritual and religious leaders for persuading the yoga guru to end his fast.
