New Delhi: Keeping BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi at the centre of his attack, Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi on Monday said that his party believes in giving power to the common people.
While addressing an election rally in Kanpur, the Gandhi scion also reiterated that Modi favoured the Adani Group in Gujarat. "Modi only favoured Adani in Gujarat and in return the industrialist did not provide any employement in the state." he said.
The Congress leader alleged that Modi handed over 45,000 ares of land to Adani group at a rate of Rs 1 per meter.
"45,000 acres of land was given to one businessman whereas the farmers whose land was acquired are now working under NREGA scheme. This kind of toffee is being sold to you (farmers)," Rahul said.
Earlier in the day, Rahul accused Modi of being discourteous to his opponents, adopting double standards on corruption and favouring select industrialists.
