New Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) will decide on the action to be taken against rebel MLA Vinod Kumar Binny in two days, senior party leader Yogendra Yadav said on Thursday.
"The party will take action against Binny in two days," Yadav said to reporters after the party's Political Affairs Committee (PAC) meeting chaired by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
Binny had accused the Delhi government of deviating from its principles and poll promises and called Arvind Kejriwal a "liar". The party had issued a showcause notice to Binny for "tarnishing" its image and was asked to respond to it, but the Laxmi Nagar MLA asked for clarifications on the clause of the party constitution under which action was initiated against him.
On Sunday, PAC formed a disciplinary action committee (DAC) under AAP National Secretary Pankaj Gupta, which will decide what action has to be taken against Binny. Apart from Gupta, the committee comprises party leaders Gopal Rai, Ilias Azmi, Yogendra Yadav and Ashish Talwar.
Sources said apart from Binny, the PAC discussed the Somnath Bharti issue and the recent face-off with the Delhi Police.
"Discussions on the first list of candidates for the Lok Sabha seat also took place," said a senior AAP leader.
