The Boxing Day Test between Australia and Pakistan saw the latter concede five runs after a fielding blunder.
During Australia’s second innings at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), Aussie skipper Pat Cummins struck the ball towards the covers.
A couple of Pakistani players chased after the ball before one of them got hold of it and threw it back at the non-striker’s end.

However, the fielder failed to collect the ball as it bounced off his hands.
Cummins took advantage of it and ran for five runs alongside Alex Carey.
The video of the entire sequence was uploaded to X (formerly Twitter) by Cricket Australia and has attracted several reactions.

One fan joked that instead of this, the fielder should have just left the ball to reach the boundaries. “He should have just left it to hit the boundary”.

Australia stormed to 79-run win over Pakistan on the fourth day of the MCG Test which concluded on Friday.
Australia were bowled out for 318 runs in their first innings.
Half-centuries from Abdullah Shafique and Shan Masood helped Pakistan to 264-all out in their reply.
They followed up with a great bowling spell next that saw Shaheen Afridi and Mir Hamza scalp four wickets each to curb the Aussies to 262 runs.
Twice Pakistan found themselves in strong positions chasing 316 but they failed to sustain the momentum with Australia captain Pat Cummins running riot with a five-wicket haul while Mitchell Starc picked four wickets to bowl them out for 237.
Australia have thus taken an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series.
