'Want to Start From India, We've so Many Beautiful Places': MS Dhoni's Old Video Goes Viral Amid Maldives Row
MS Dhoni's old video went viral on the internet, where he said that he wanted to travel the India as there are many beautiful places in the country.

The Indian cricket fraternity has raised its voice on social media after Maldives ministers, leaders, and other public figures made controversial statements about India. Maldives ministers’ controversial posts on social media have triggered a backlash in India in which they took shots at India after Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent visit to Lakshadweep.

Several prominent cricketers including Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, Hardik Pandya and others have urged the Indians to discover Indian beaches instead of going to the Maldives.

Amidst the controversy, former India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s old video went viral on the internet, where he said that he wanted to travel the India as there are many beautiful places in the country.

Mostly, I do travel a lot but not for vacations. Frankly, if you ask me, I have not been to a lot of vacations. During my cricket playing time, mostly I would go to nations where cricket was there. I haven’t seen a lot because I was like I have come here to play cricket, I will play cricket and come back. So, not a lot of fun that way,” Dhoni said in the video.

“My wife loves to travel. So, now our plan is… we are getting some time off, we want to travel. But we want to start from India. We have so many beautiful places over here. I would like to explore them first before heading to different places,” he said.

Dhoni will be seen in the next season of IPL as Chennai Super Kings have retained him for the mega tournament after he guided them to the fifth IPL title last year.

The wicket-keeper batter was struggling throughout last season with a knee injury and also underwent surgery after the winning fifth IPL title.

Chennai Super Kings CEO Kasi Viswanathan recently told ANI, “He has recovered well (from his knee injury). He is undergoing his rehab programmes, started training. By the time the next IPL starts, I am sure he will be fit to play.”
