In what comes as a heart-wrenching story, a user who goes by the name ‘Garima Soul’ took to Reddit and shared how she runs a family on a salary which pays less than 20K a month. Elaborating on her story Garima mentioned that she is a 29-year-old single mom who teaches in a small pre primary school and gives tuition to a few kids. “My monthly earning is 18.5k,” Garima mentioned. Explaining her savings situation, she said, “Still I normally find myself unable to save anything till the end of month. When I read posts here about people paying 30-35k for rent, I just dream how much I’d save if that was my income..then I also read people with 1-1.5 lakh not being able to save so I suppose the more you earn, demands keep increasing.”

One Reddit user wrote, “Immense respect for you. Wish you more strength. I would like to add one bit which may improve your financial situation. Since you have an autistic child, and are already in the field of education, I would strongly urge you to develop skills in providing therapy to kids in the spectrum. This is an area which does not have an adequate number of people with skills to provide therapy to those in need. Please explore internet resources to try and enhance your understanding of specific areas that require therapy. It could be OT, speech etc.”
