The Ministry of Communications Department of Posts has initiated a recruitment drive for India Post under the sports quota, accepting applications from November 10 to December 9. Interested candidates can apply for various positions by visiting the DOPS Sports Recruitment website at dopsportsrecruitment.cept.gov.in. The recruitment aims to fill 1899 positions, with opportunities including 598 for Postal Assistants, 143 for Sorting Assistants, 585 for Postmen, 3 for Mail Guards, and 570 for Multi Tasking Staff. A correction window from December 10 to December 14, is provided for candidates to rectify any errors in their applications.
The official notice read, “Online applications are invited from meritorious sportspersons who fulfiIls other eligibility conditions, such as, age, educational and other qualifications, etc.”
India Post Sports Quota Recruitment 2023: Eligibility Criteria
Postal Assistant/Sorting Assistant – Candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognised university and expertise in using a computer.
Postman/Mail Guard – Candidates must have completed their 12th grade from a recognised board and have studied the local language of the concerned Postal Circle or Division as one of their 10th-grade subjects or above. In addition, the candidate should be comfortable working on a computer. Additionally, for the position of a postman, they must have a valid driving licence for a two-wheeler or a light motor vehicle. Persons with Benchmark Disability are not required to have a licence.
Multi-tasking staff – These candidates must have passed 10th grade from a recognised Board.

While the application fee for the recruitment drive is set at Rs 100, it’s important to note that women, transgender applicants, and individuals belonging to the Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD), and Economically Weaker Section (EWS) categories are exempted from paying any application fees.
