'India is Unstoppable': PM Modi, Sehwag Lead Reactions as Rohit Sharma and Co. Seal World Cup Semis Berth
PM Modi, Virender Sehwag, Irfan Pathan were all in awe of the Indian team's performances as the Men in Blue qualified for the World Cup semifinals.

Rohit Sharma-led Indian team picked up their seventh consecutive win in the ODI World Cup 2023, as they defeated Sri Lanka by 302 runs to seal their place in the World Cup semifinals. Chasing 358 runs, Sri Lanka folded for a mere 55, after Mohammed Shami’s fifer, before Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj set the stage with a fiery opening spell.

India became the first team to qualify for the semifinals, following their seventh victory in the World Cup, with 14 points on the board, they leapfrogged South Africa to reclaim the top spot once again.

The dominant show from the Indian players was lauded by plenty of dignitaries, former players and others.

Indian Prime Minister PM Modi wrote on social media platform X that the Men in Blue looked unstoppable, and his opinion was mirrored by former England captain Michael Vaughan as well.

“Team India is unstoppable in the World Cup! Congratulations to the team on a stellar victory against Sri Lanka! It was a display of exceptional teamwork and tenacity,” wrote PM Modi.

Vaughan meanwhile wrote, “Timing .. pic taken as the wicket fell .. !!! The best ground in #India .. absolutely love the crowd in #Mumbai .. btw .. India look unstoppable.”

Former India pacer Irfan Pathan shared a hilarious meme to sum up the feelings of opposition batters whenever they pace the Indian bowling attack.

Virender Sehwag meanwhile hailed the clinical displays from the likes of Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj, and other Indian players.

Dinesh Karthik hailed the clinical performance from the Men in Blue, saying that India thoroughly deserved to be in top spot.

With a perfect 7/7 win record in the World Cup so far, Rohit Sharma and Co. will face South Africa next at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on November 5 which will be their toughest test so far, as the Proteas sit in second place in the points table.
