IND vs PAK 2023: India Bowlers Produce Combine Display to Skittle Pakistan for 191
Indian bowlers put up a combined display to skittle Pakistan for 191 in 42.5 overs in their ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 contest on Saturday.

Pakistan suffered an epic collapse in their ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 contest against India at the Narendra Modi Stadium to be bowled out for 191 in 42.5 overs. The Indian bowlers produced a combined display with as many as five bowlers taking a couple of wickets each in front of a packed house in Ahmedabad.

India captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and put Pakistan in to bat first. Imam-ul-Haq peeled off three boundaries off Mohammed Siraj to set the tone in the second over of the innings.

A disciplined Jasprit Bumrah from the other end was keeping things quiet. There were 19 dot balls in his first spell that lasted four overs. Siraj was leaking runs but he redeemed himself soon when he trapped opener Abdullah Shafique LBW on 20.

Few boundaries later and stung by a cut shot from Imam-ul-Haq, Hardik Pandya gave himself a pep talk and reaped immediate reward by inducing a thick outside edge and wicketkeeper KL Rahul took a nice diving catch.

That gave way to the only phase of the innings when Pakistan innings appeared to be threatening. Babar Azam and in-form Mohammad Rizwan steadily began stitching a partnership that gave them the hope of a big total.

Babar peeled off his first ever ODI half-century against India. Rizwan continued to grow in confidence as he swept and scooped to collect boundaries.

Rohit brought back Siraj to break the partnership, conceded a boundary each to Babar and Rizwan.

Babar then got to his fifty with a four off Kuldeep Yadav.

Despite the punishment, Siraj was persisted with. And he struck when Babar, against the run of play, went for a late dab but the ball sneaked past to crash on the off-stump.

The crowd at the venue erupted.

Pakistan were 155/3 when Babar exited the stage.

And a collapse of epic proportion followed. Kuldeep and Bumrah were the chief architect as Pakistan lost five wickets in the space of 35 deliveries.

From 155/2, the former champions found themselves tottering at 171/7.

The lower order tried dragging the score closer to 200-run mark but Ravindra Jadeja struck in quick time to pour cold water on their hopes.
