India will be playing their second T20I of the ongoing three-match series against Afghanistan in Indore this Sunday.

The Indian cricket team has landed in Indore for the second game of their ongoing three-match T20I series against Afghanistan. The hosts have taken a 1-0 lead after a comprehensive six-wicket win in the series opener played earlier this week in Mohali.

India, the world’s top-ranked T20I side, will be aiming to close out the series on Sunday itself with an unassailable 2-0 lead. And the teams will also hope for a warmer climate after the frigid cold evening of Mohali.

The BCCI has shared a clip of the players arriving in Indore and being asked about their memories of the city and what it reminds of them.

The consensus seems to be that the city offers good food, especially poha with Kuldeep Yadav talking about the famous Sarafa Bazaar.

“There have been several cricketing memories (in this city). Sarafa Bazaar offers a lot of variety in food, so that,” he said.

India fielding coach T Dillip said, “When it comes to Indore, all I would say is poha.”

Legspinner Ravi Bishnoi called Indore the cleanest city of India.

“We played here once and I really liked the food then. Cleanest city of India,” Bishnoi said.

India wicketkeeper-batter Sanju Samson thinks that people in Indore can ‘crack jokes naturally’ and added that local boy Avesh Khan has the ability to make everybody laugh.

“People from Indore are very funny I feel. They crack jokes very naturally and one of them is Avesh Khan in our squad. When he talks, we all laugh. I am looking forward to a really great laughter time with Avesh Khan in Indore,” he said.

For top-order batter Shubman Gill, it’s the Holkar Stadium and the dressing room named after the current head coach and batting legend Rahul Dravid.

“The stadium and Rahul sir’s dressing room,” Gill responded.

On the other hand, India batting coach Vikram Rathour is looking forward to a run-fest. “Great batting wicket, a high scoring venue. So looking forward to it,” he said.
