After dropping Golden, BTS member Jungkook has begun the promotion of his solo debut album in the US in full swing. He recently appeared on popular host Jimmy Fallon’s The Tonight Show, which was followed by a scheduled daytime Today performance on Wednesday, November 8. He belted out three of his smash-hit songs for the massive crowd assembled outside Rockefeller Plaza in New York City. But his energetic performances aren’t the only thing that’s making noise on social media. The golden maknae of BTS’ warm interaction with a 10-year-old ARMY is now melting numerous hearts online. Footage of the incident shows an anchor approaching the young Lenne, who stood in line with a placard celebrating her 10th birthday during his daytime concert.
As soon as Jungkook saw the little girl, he wooed in appreciation and thanked her for her support. When the anchor asked Lenne what she wanted to say to JK, the munchkin uttered, “I love you” with childlike excitement. The Seven hitmaker quickly responded, “I love you too” which ended up making Lenne cry tears of happiness. Jungkook emulated her crying face to make the young girl laugh and he succeeded in doing so immediately. The video has fans praising Jungkook for his humble and cute antics. Jungkook began his performance on Today with the pop rendition of 3D that he made alongside Grammy-nominated rapper Jack Harlow. The K-pop idol moved on to deliver the title track of Golden, Standing Next To You, before ending his daytime concert with smash-hit Seven featuring Latto.
Jungkook is the last of his globally famous K-pop group to venture solo as a few members of BTS continue to fulfill their mandatory military service. Last year, he rolled out FIFA World Cup anthem Dreamers and Left and Right with Charlie Puth but his full-length debut solo album was dropped earlier this month on November 3. He released Seven over the summer which became a Billboard No. 1 track smashing significant music records. It was followed by the release of 3D and Standing Next To You music videos where his Michael Jackson-esque persona charmed fans.
During his appearance on The Tonight Show, Jungkook revealed it was his band leader RM aka Kim Namjoon who coined the term “Golden maknae” for him which eventually became his album title. Sharing pizzas and laughter, Jungkook also candidly spoke about his plans to organize a Golden World Tour for ARMY. Despite having several smash-hit solos in his discography, the K-pop idol believes he still doesn’t have enough songs to host a world tour. But the moment he feels he does, JK will be happy to hit the roads. Jungkook’s
Golden has 11 tracks including features from the likes of Major Lazer, DJ Snake, Shawn Mendes, and Ed Sheeran.
