Devara: Janhvi Kapoor Shares Having Intense Emotions For Her Mom Sridevi On Film Sets, ‘Mai Ghar Aagyi Hoon’
Janhvi Kapoor opens up on working on her debut Telugu film Devara.

Janhvi Kapoor is currently shooting for her highly anticipated Telugu film Devara. The film will also mark her South debut and for the same, she has been paired opposite Jr NTR. Amid all the shoot and preparations, the actress recently recollected her late mother Sridevi’s dominance in the South film industry. She also opened up about working on the film sets.

In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, she shared, “It’s my first Telugu film. so a lot of my time is spent learning the dialogue as I don’t speak the language. My mum spoke to us in Hindi and English at home. But whenever we went to Chennai (Tamil Nadu), more often than not. she would speak in Tamil. I am more familiar with Tamil than I am with Telugu.”

Janhvi also added that working on the film also feels like ‘homecoming’ in a way. “I feel ki main ghar aa gayi hoon. Everyone on set feels like my own. I don’t know if It’s because of my intense emotional attachment to mum or if l am feeling attached to her by doing a film down south. It’s spiritual,” she shared.

Audiences are keen to see Janhvi Kapoor’s complete transformation in the film, where she will supposedly play a village girl. In Devara, she plays the love interest of Jr NTR. Her character is tailored to match the rustic setup. Janhvi Kapoor is thus donning a girl-next-door look in this film.

Janhvi Kapoor was last seen in Bawaal, alongside Varun Dhawan. She is known for her roles in films like Roohi, Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl, Ghost Stories, and GoodLuck Jerry. Her upcoming projects include Dostana 2 and Mr And Mrs Mahi. Janhvi made her Bollywood debut with Dhadak, co-starring Ishaan Khatter.
