The budget of the film was around Rs 10 crore, and it is reported that it has collected more than Rs 40 crore worldwide. The film hit the screens on January 11, 2024 this year and was released later on the OTT platform. Abraham Ozler was initially set to release in December 2023, but was postponed to January.
Abraham Ozler boasts an ensemble cast of actors including Jayaram, Anaswara Rajan, Arjun Ashokan, Senthil Krishna, and Jagadeesh. It also features a cameo by actor Mammootty. In the film, Jayaram plays Abraham Ozler, who’s looking into a bunch of hospital deaths while dealing with his issues.
The plot of the film revolves around ACP Abraham Ozler, who is on vacation with his wife and daughter. During his vacation, he gets a call where he is asked to take over a case, and later he realises that the call was fake. Then he found that his wife and daughter were killed. The shocking incident led him into depression, and he is haunted by hallucinations and insomnia. During this phase, he is assigned to the case of a serial killer. The case is solved and he also finds the clue that he needed to get closure about the deaths of his wife and child.
Jayaram in the role of Abraham Ozler brings out the complex nature of his character’s personality. His performance in the film is commanding. Directed by Mithun Manuel Thomas, the shooting of the film began on May 20, 2023. The music for the film was composed by Midhun Mukundan, while editing and cinematography were handled by Shameer Muhammed and Theni Eswar.
