Superstar Ajith Kumar will be next seen in the movie Vidaa Muyarchi, which is written and directed by Magizh Thirumeni. Actresses Trisha Krishnan and Regina Cassandra will also be playing prominent roles in the movie. Actor-director Arjun Sarja is another marvellous addition to this ensemble cast. The first shooting schedule of the movie has been completed in Azerbaijan. The second schedule is expected to start after the Lok Sabha Elections 2024. Amid this, an interview with director Saran has come to light in which he reveals that Ajith Kumar got upset with him for not being offered a lead role in the film Vattaram back in 2006.
Saran’s journey in the entertainment industry started with his directorial debut movie Kadhal Mannan. It starred Ajith Kumar in the lead role. It was released in 1998. The film was commercially successful at the box office. The director-actor collaborated again in the following year with the movie Amarkalam. It was another hit which was added in the directorial resume of Saran. Ajith Kumar played the lead role. Proving to be the lucky charm for each other, the director often approached Ajith Kumar for his movie, but not every time things worked out between them. A similar scenario happened during the release of his film Vattaram in 2006. It starred actor Jamshad Cethrikanth, also known as Arya, in the lead role. The film was a gangster drama. After completing the production of the movie, Saran screened it for Ajith Kumar before its release to get his feedback onboard. Ajith Kumar’s reaction puzzled Saran as he didn’t expect his lucky charm to get angry.
As per the report of Filmibeat, Saran said that after watching the film, Ajith Kumar got furious and questioned him about why he was not approached for the story. He was upset about not being offered the lead role in the movie. The film is a gangster drama which revolves around a man’s revenge against a drug dealer.
In 2010, the Saran-Ajith Kumar duo reunited for the movie Aasal. It couldn’t perform well at the box office.
