What Viji Thampi's Jai Sri Ram Poster With Temple And Flagpole Promises About The Film
Vishnu Vardhan is penning the script for Jai Sri Ram, while Pradeep Nair and Ravi Menon are handling production duties under the Drishya Cine banner.

Director Viji Thampi unveiled the concept poster of his upcoming film Jai Sri Ram on social media today. Thampi aims to appeal to a diverse audience across India with this Pan India project. The poster depicts a figure clad in sacred attire gesturing towards a temple with a toppled flagpole.

Vishnu Vardhan is penning the script for Jai Sri Ram, while Pradeep Nair and Ravi Menon are handling production duties under the Drishya Cine banner. The film’s creators have not yet revealed information about the cast and crew involved. This marks the veteran director’s second film announcement in recent years. Previously, he unveiled plans for a period drama centred on the life of Velu Thampi Dalawa, the Diwan of the Travancore kingdom, starring Prithviraj Sukumaran.

Viji Thampi began his career in the film industry as an assistant to Balachandra Menon. In 1988, he made his directorial debut with the film David David Mr. David, marking the start of his independent directorial journey. Throughout his career, he directed a total of 28 films, including notable titles like Witness, Sooryamanasam, Simhavalan Menon, Avittam Thirunaal Aarogya Sriman, Sathyameva Jayathe, Krithyam, and Nadodi Mannan. Thampi also showcased his acting talent in 18 films, some of which he directed himself.

In addition to his work in cinema, Viji Thampi directed seven television serials, such as Black and White on Asianet, Annie (a tele-cinema on Kairali TV), Amma (a tele-cinema on Amrita TV), Sree Krishna Leela on Asianet, Mahatma Gandhi Colony on Asianet, Devi Mahatmya on Asianet, and Ayyappa Saranam on Amrita TV. He also appeared in the television serial Mask and served as a judge on Amrita TV’s Shreshtabharatha- Mahabharatha programme.

Thampi holds positions as a member of the Thiruvananthapuram regional board of the Central Board of Film Certification and serves as the State Advisor of Kerala Kshetra Samrakshana Samithi. Additionally, in 2021, he assumed the role of Kerala State President of the Vishva Hindu Parishad. Moreover, Thampi served as a jury member on the National Film Awards declaration committee in 2022.
