Vivek Oberoi Gives a Twist to the 'Pawri Ho Rahi Hai' Trend, Dedicates Video to Mumbai Police
Actor Vivek Oberoi, who was fined by Mumbai Police for not wearing a mask and helmet, gave a twist to the 'Pawri Ho Rahi Hai' trend to joke about his situation.

Actor Vivek Oberoi is the latest celebrity to have joined the viral ‘Pawri Ho Rahi Hai’ trend. The actor, however, gave a new twist to the trend by relating it with the challan issued to him by Mumbai Police for not wearing a mask or helmet.

In the video, posted by Vivek on Instagram, the actor could be heard saying “Yeh hum hai, yeh humaari bikes hai, aur yaha pe humari pawtikatgayihai. (This is me, these are my bikes, and here is my challan).” He captioned the video, “This is for you @mumbaipolice #pawtikatgayihai #PawriNahiHoRahiHai.”

On Friday, Vivek was slapped a fine of Rs 500 by Mumbai Police for flouting Covid-19 norms when he took his new Harley Davidson out on a spin, with wife Priyanka riding pillion. The incident came to light after he posted a Valentine Day video of the bike-ride with his wife Priyanka Alva-Oberoi on the pillion seat, both seen without the necessary protective gears. They could also be seen interacting with people without their masks.

Acknowledging his mistake, Vivek had tweeted, “Pyaar humein kis mod pe le aaya! Nikle they nayi bike par hum aur hamari jaan, bina helmet ke kat gaya chalaan! Riding without a helmet? Mumbai police will do a checkmate! Thank u @mumbaipolice for making me realise that safety is always most important. Be safe, Wear a helmet & a mask.”

Meanwhile, on the work front, Vivek will be next seen in the horror film Rosie: The Saffron Chapter, which he has also produced. The film will mark the Bollywood debut of Shweta Tiwari’s daughter Palak Tiwari.
