The Tamil film Thangalaan is eagerly awaited by cinema enthusiasts. Updates about Thangalaan, which marks the collaboration between Pa Ranjith and Vikram, have been fueling fans’ excitement. Director Pa Ranjith has now revealed that the film’s climax scene had to be reshot. After completing the film’s shoot, everyone returned to their other projects. However, Ranjith mentioned that all the actors, including Vikram, cooperated with the reshoot when he told them that he was not satisfied with the way the climax had been shot.

Ranjith apologised to Vikram for the demanding fight sequence, explaining that it was challenging to shoot it as he had envisioned. During the shoot, Vikram sustained an injury to his ribs. English actor Daniella, who plays the central character alongside Vikram, also sustained an injury during the fight scene and had to undergo surgery.

Ranjith said, “After the film’s initial shoot, some parts had to be reshot. By then, he had already moved on to another film. Even so, when I explained the situation, he immediately agreed. He had injured his ribs during a stunt. While shooting the stunt, I only looked at the monitor; when I called ‘action,’ a sequence would happen and as soon as I said ‘cut,’ I’d call my assistants on set to check if something happened to him. They would come back and tell me he was in pain. Even if I said we could do it one more time, he would still do it. I have put him through a lot and I apologise for that now. I saw him as Thangalaan and my effort was to capture it as I envisioned. Vikram sir’s support has been crucial. He has embraced this film as if it were his own. He has immense faith in this film and me. I hope to deliver great success for him because he believes in me so much. I am confident and hopeful that this film will work.”

Thangalaan will be released on August 15, coinciding with the Independence Day Holiday.
