Actress Vijayta Pandit had earlier mentioned how her late husband Aadesh Shrivastava had taken a promise from Shah Rukh Khan to help her older son establish himself in the industry. In a recent interview, the former actress mentioned how she has not been able to get in touch with Khan. She added that neither Khan has come forward to help her son.
In a conversation with The Indian Express, Vijayta Pandit said that she had reached out to Shah Rukh Khan’s team but she did not receive a response. She said, “I am the only parent with Avitesh, so I have to make sure that he has to become something in life. When this incident happened, I was there. Aadeshji held SRK’s hand and pointed towards Avitesh. Now is the time when Avitesh should be playing the main hero. Nothing has happened even after I spoke up. I tried reaching out again. I got his secretary Pooja Dadlani’s number. I tried calling her two or three times, but she did not answer. SRK is a wonderful person, a very sweet boy.”
Pandit recalled meeting Khan when he was working on Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman. She mentioned that the actor was living in a small room and how happy she was to see him succeed. In the same conversation, she added that the actor should recommend her son in the industry. She continued, “That time there was no sofa in his house, we sat on mattresses. It was a small room… Shah Rukh was new in the industry when I met him, and today he has a bungalow in Mannat. God has given him so much, so now he has to keep his promise. I am not saying they should sign him for a film, they should just recommend him. Help him audition.”
Shrivastava passed away in 2015. He is succeeded by his sons, Anivesh and Avitesh.
