The Penguin India Release Date: Where To Watch The Batman Spin-off Series Starring Colin Farrell
The Penguin is set to stream in India starting September 20. The series is spread across eight episodes, with each episode releasing every week.

The Penguin is all set to hint the OTT stream next month. While the series, which will feature eight episodes, will release in HBO in the US, Indian DCEU fans will be able to watch The Penguin on Jio Cinema. The platform confirmed the news on Instagram. For the unversed, The Penguin is a spin-off of The Batman, starring Robert Pattinson.

Sharing the news on Instagram, the platform wrote, “His for the taking. Catch the new @hbo Original Limited Series #ThePenguin, premiering Friday, September 20 at 6:30AM IST on JioCinema Premium, and then Mondays at 6:30AM IST starting September 30. Available in English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Bengali and Marathi.”

The eight-episode drama, from the world of DC Studios, continues the epic Batman crime saga initiated by filmmaker Matt Reeves in the global blockbuster The Batman. The series dives deep into the psychology of Oz Cobb, portrayed by popular Irish actor Colin Farrell, as he embarks on a ruthless journey to become Gotham City’s new Kingpin and a formidable opponent of Batman.

Speaking about his character and the show, the actor teased what fans can expect. “Tons of violence, abject darkness, a man, and a great struggle to try and claw his way to the top. You know, there’s a power grab in Gotham now. It’s dark, man. Lauren LeFranc, with her room of writers, wrote eight extraordinary episodes. I mean, just really, really bold stuff. I couldn’t believe that it got as dark as it got… It would be a Hard R,” Colin Farrell told HeyUGuys.

Earlier this year, Farrell teased the series. “It was a long and really wonderful experience,” he told MovieZine. “It’s dark; that’s what I can tell you about it. It’s really dark. It’s really heavy, I think— it certainly was doing it. Which is not to say I didn’t have fun, I had an amazing time doing it. It’s incredibly violent,” he added.
