The dance reality show ‘Dance Deewane’ is all set to make its comeback on television. Madhuri Dixit will return as the judge on the show and will also be joined by Suniel Shetty this season. While dance lovers are eagerly waiting for it, Shetty recently revealed that he was “doubtful” when he was initially offered the show.
Suniel Shetty argued that he is not the best dancer and therefore was a little sceptical when he was asked to judge Dance Deewane. However, it was his family’s unanimous cheerleading that nudged him into the coveted judge’s seat of the dance battle.
“Many people said that this is probably the best decision that I have taken. My mother said that too because she loves this show. My wife, daughter, son, and friends said the same thing. However, initially, I was doubtful about this decision! When the team of the show approached me, I asked ‘Why me?’ I’m probably the worst in the country with two left feet,” Shetty said.
“The team mentioned that they wanted to change this thinking with this Dance Deewane. They said Aap Bus Deewane Banke appreciate karo jo apko accha lagta hai. That’s when I became comfortable. Thanks to the platform, the show itself, Madhuri, the entire team, and Bharti. I’m happy and glad that I embraced this change,” the actor added.
Previously, Madhuri Dixit also talked about returning as a judge on the show when she said, “Returning to the judge’s seat for Dance Deewane feels like revisiting a cherished tradition. This spectacular stage is a melting pot of inclusivity, where dancers from all walks of life, spanning generations, come together to celebrate the art of dance. Over the years, I’ve mentored many dancers, but this edition marks the first time I will be part of dance families united by their unbridled passion for the art. I am thrilled and looking forward to co-judge this season with Suniel Shetty, known for infusing wit and humour onto the stage, bringing a unique synergy.”
Produced by Dreams Vault Media, Dance Deewane will premiere on February 3, 2024, and will air every Saturday and Sunday at 9:30 pm on COLORS.
