Television actor Shoaib Ibrahim has opened up about his first audition. In a recent interview with Mr Faisu aka Faisal Shaikh, Shoaib shared that it was his mother’s dream to see him on television. He recalled auditioning for Rajan Shahi’s Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai when he was “thrown out”. Sohaib mentioned that he was very hurt by the incident.
“Pehla audition maine diya Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai ke liye. Us wakt mujhe us audition room se bahar nikaal diya gaya, toh us wakt mujhe bahut hurt hua tha aur wo maine bahut dil pe liya. Fir main papa ko bolta tha ke main engineering karunga, engineering kar ke Mumbai jaunga, waha job bhi karunga aur struggle bhi,” Sohaib said as quoted by Free Press Journal.
Shoaib Ibrahim made his acting debut in 2009 with the TV show, Rehna Hai Teri Palkon Ki Chhaon Mein. He later starred in several other serials including Sasural Simar Ka and Koi Laut Ke Aaya Hai. Shoaib was recently also seen in Ajooni, which went off-air in August 2023.
Besides this, Shoaib recently also participated in Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 11. He was the runner-up of the celebrity dance reality show, which was won by Manisha Rani. Three other finalists on the show were, Adrija Sinha, Dhanashree Verma, and Sriram Chandra. After the show’s grand finale, Shoaib’s actress-wife Dipika Kakar reacted to her husband losing JDJ and shared that it was human to feel bad.
“Thoda bura toh lagta hai (it does feel bad a little), it is human nature. After a journey of 17 weeks and all the hard work, coming so close, Shoaib was never at the bottom. He has evolved so much as a dancer, Farah ma’am praising him is a big deal,” Dipika said in one of her blogs.
“Anyways, congratulations to Manisha and Ashutosh, when I was on ‘Jhalak’, Ashu was assisting Vaibhav and this is his first season as a main choreographer, so congratulations to him,” the Sasural Simar Ka actress added.
