Mumbai Police reduces security cover for 40 Bollywood celebrities after a regular a security audit. Security of Aamir Khan and Shah Rukh Khan has been reduced to only two armed constables, who will shadow the actors. Both, Shahrukh Khan and Aamir Khan had spoken out against intolerance in the country, recently.
Police confirmed they were providing security to around 40 bollywood celebrities. Howevere, the numbers have now reduced to 15 personalities who have genuine threats to their lives.
According to Police manpower is wasted to provide security to Bollywood personalities and at times it is unwarranted. Security of 25 Bollywood personalities has been completely withdrawn which includes Vidhu Vinod Chopra, Rajkumar Hirani, Farah Khan, Karim Morani and Ali Morani. Morani's were given security in August 2014, when members of the Ravi Pujari gang had opened fire at Ali Morani’s house.
